Moonstone Arts Center
Moonstone Arts Center has promoted creative exchange through diverse cultural programs, such as poetry readings since 1981. I am currently a publicity and publishing intern. Day to day, I write social media and event copy as well as create graphics. Check out what I’ve worked on this semester at Moonstone.

Social Media COpy & Graphics
In my role with Moonstone Arts Center, I focused on creating event graphics that not only reflected the essence of their activities but also resonated with the audience. Crafting social media posts accompanied by eye-catching graphics became a key strategy to draw attention to their events and initiatives. I ensured that these graphics were not just visually appealing but also aligned with the authentic vibe of Moonstone Arts Center. Additionally, sharing these posts to the Instagram story was a deliberate move to enhance visibility and engagement. By combining thoughtful graphics with the spontaneity of Instagram stories, we aimed to create a dynamic and relatable online presence that resonated with the community, fostering genuine interest and interaction around Moonstone Arts Center's happenings.
Linktree Creation
I established a Linktree connected to Moonstone Arts Center's Instagram, serving as a central hub for event details and Submittable links for various poetry submissions. This integrated approach bridges the dynamic content shared on Instagram with the detailed information on the website. The Linktree streamlines navigation, providing a convenient pathway for followers to engage with Moonstone's literary offerings. This cohesive strategy ensures that our audience can easily access and participate in the vibrant events and submission opportunities offered by Moonstone Arts Center.
New Voices
New Voices is Moonstone Arts Center’s annual poetry submission for emerging poets under 25. As publicity and publishing intern, it was my duty to design an enticing program cover for the live reading at the Free Library of Philadelphia. The programs were distributed to 100+ attendees.
One of my other duties at Moonstone throughout the semester was designing the print layout of the New Voices perfect-bound book. Over 80 submissions had to be formatted and ready for publishing.
Event Graphics
At Moonstone Arts Center, I took on the creative challenge of crafting event graphics for various engaging initiatives, including the Weekly Readings at Fergie's Pub, Philly CAM's Philly Loves Poetry Series, and the Poet Remembrance Series, among other noteworthy projects. The goal was to visually capture the unique spirit of each event while maintaining a consistent and inviting aesthetic. These graphics, showcased on Moonstone's website, not only served as visual anchors for their diverse range of programs but also contributed to the overall storytelling experience. By infusing each graphic with the essence of the event it represented, we aimed to entice and resonate with the audience, fostering a sense of connection and anticipation for the rich literary and cultural experiences offered by Moonstone Arts Center.
